About the GPSMonitor V1.0

GPSMonitor is a GPS Based Monitoring application. Its the symbian client of the GPSMonitor Tracking application. The GPSMonitor provides the user the ability to record his/her GPS data on mobile database and view them in the main screen of the application. In addtion to that the application is customized to be able to send data over the internet using the GPRS technology. This application preserves the user settings, log different events that occur in the application to allow easily troubleshooting scenarios.The application supports  Symbian OS v9.x devices (S60 3rd Edition and onwards)

Prerequisites
------------
- User account creation, username and passwors are required to communicate with the database server
- GPRS data package provided on device to enable sending application data over the internet
- An internal/external gps module for capturing the users location


Known issues/Limitations
-------------------------
- The orientation of the device have been reported to have some problems. Currently the portriat mode is only supported in the application, while the landscape is not yet supported.
- Devices that support GPRS class B, have problems in sending the data packet simultanously during an active phone call. The data is sent once call is over in the subsequent interval. This perodic interval can be changed from the settings.

Running the GPSMonitor Application

When the application is started, choose the 'Options' menu and goto settings, check you have inserted the username and password according to the registration information. 
To start recording the GPS data choose the 'Options' menu and the click on 'GPS' and then 'Connect to GPS'.
To send the data via the Internet to the server choose the 'Options' menu and then click on 'GPRS' then 'Connect to the Internet'
To application usage info and memory info go to the 'extras' from the 'Options' menu

_ Download the application to the device, there are many ways to do this:
	- via bluetooth
	- via the internet
	- via Nokia PC suite

- Install the signed .sis file to a S60 3rd Edition device using Nokia PC suite.
